Woman holding a burger If you’re a Charleston local, you don’t need us to tell you that the lowcountry is home to some of the best cuisine on the East Coast. In recent years, the city has become a culinary hub and foodie destination, attracting talented chefs from around the world. Each chef brings their own unique spin on classic lowcountry favorites including shrimp & grits, oysters, and fried chicken & waffles … and the classic American hamburger is no exception. The chefs at these four popular downtown restaurants are serving up some of the most mouthwatering burgers in Charleston!

HUSK

Take a bite out of the Husk Cheeseburger. Led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Sean Brock, Husk brings the essence of Southern ingredients into each one of their dishes and their Husk Cheeseburger is no different. They even drizzle their very own “special sauce” on top of their burgers.  Watch from your table as chefs in the open kitchen assemble regionally sourced ingredients into the perfect dishes.

MOE’S CROSSTOWN

Take a bite out of The Rutledge. Moe’s Crosstown is sort of a local secret known for their mouthwatering burgers – a popular spot on Tuesday’s for their famous $5 burger night. “The Rutledge ” is their all-American beef patty topped with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried tomato that all come together to make one irresistible bite – the perfect balance of favorite lowcountry flavors and a classic burger.

LITTLE JACK’S TAVERN

Take a bite out of the Double Tavern Burger. Known for their delectable burgers, Little Jack’s made a name for themselves on Upper King Street. The Double Tavern Burger is twice the patty topped with their signature Tavern Sauce –  a burger you can’t find anywhere else. In fact, it’s so good that they took home the The Very Best Burger Award’ at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival last year.

167 RAW

Take a bite out of the Tuna Burger. Who said burgers have to be beef? Experience it for yourself when you taste the fresh yellow fin tuna,  topped with spice rock sauces, pickled red onion and guacamole. The chefs behind 167 Raw are a couple of seafood experts from the coast of Massachusetts, so these guys know what they’re doing when it comes to fresh, locally caught Tuna!
