95 Broad Street Charleston SC--Luxury Simplified Office

Here at Luxury Simplified, 95 Broad Street in Charleston, SC isn’t just our business address, but a place where we enjoy entertaining friends, neighbors and visitors alike. The house, originally built for Major Peter Bocquet in 1770, is recognized in the register of historical homes on the Charleston Peninsula, and highlighted on this historic street by the deep terra cotta color we painted the exterior. We are confident that the Major would approve of the beautiful renovation we were inspired to do on his home, and he would appreciate that this stately old house has become a hub for glamorous, upscale events. Our renovation goals were to create a stylish place we would want to work in, to entertain in, and to share with others as a public space available for private events.

Events at The Peter Bocquet House benefit from its sophisticated decor with walls painted in rich classic colors, original wide-plank hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, and elaborate moldings. With crystal chandeliers and fireplaces in every room, and a rear, private bricked patio, it provides the perfect backdrop both indoor and out, for cocktails, dinner parties, or receptions. We knew that entertaining in this magnificent old building would be a top priority for us so our kitchen is a space where beauty meets function, appointed with commercial grade appliances and everything a caterer needs.

Earlier this month we hosted the South of Broad Living “1-Year Anniversary Party “, to celebrate the magazine’s first year in publication. On a warm, fall evening, our neighbors in this South of Broad community joined the magazine’s publisher, Michell Champ, for cocktails and hors d’oeuvre. Guests marveled at the beauty we have restored to this Charleston landmark and what an elegant backdrop it provided on this memorable evening.

As a result of our thoughtful restoration of this gracious, historic Charleston landmark it is a favorite stop on the Preservation Society of Charleston “Fall Tour of Homes. ” The Preservation Society’s “Charleston Architectural Overview ” tour brings visitors to the house on Thursday evenings throughout the month of October and includes homes and buildings that feature many of Charleston’s classic architectural styles.
